We just published our paper in PNAS. Following the publication our paper has got a lot of attention in the press both nationally and internationally. As some of you reading this blog maybe remember I wrote an article in Dagbladet about this topic 1 1/2 year ago and Im very excited being a part of this interesting study both as an athlete and as a scientist.

Friday afternoon we (Lotte -69, Marielle -51, Robert, Max and me) arrived Uppsala in Sweden to do the last preparation for the World Championship. We have been sparring with the Swedish and Finnish National team. Friday we had one training session with match sparring. Saturday we had three sessions; morning run, match sparring before lunch, and technical sparring and bag work in the afternoon. Sunday we also had three sessions like Saturday. Monday we had two sessions; explosive work and technical sparring first and technical sparring in the afternoon. This morning we have been out running and now (as I wright) we are getting ready for the last session with technical sparring. We are flying home to Norway later this afternoon.
Lotte, Marielle and me do now feel that we are well prepared for the World Champ that starts the 9th of September in Barbados. This summer we have been on camp 90 % of the time and the last 10% we have been training at home. We started with the international tournament Haringey in London in June. From London we went straight to Spain. After Spain we went to Beijing and then Ukraine and then Sweden. 4th September we are leaving to Barbados. To kick some ass.

My training partner Kristin and Henrik (also a boxer from Oslo Bokseklubb) got married today. Me and the other girls here in Ukraine hope you both have a wonderful day and we wish you the best for the future. I personally wish I were there to hear Henriks speech.

This week I will compete in an international tournament in Nikolaev, Ukraine. The team is Lotte (69 kg), Birgit (75 kg) and Marielle (51 kg) and me (-60) the coach is Martin Kitel. We have been training in Oslo this past weekend getting ready for the tournament.
